Person-Centered Day Support Services for individuals with Developmental Disabilities
We believe every individual deserves the opportunity to connect, contribute, and grow within their community.
Volunteering, attending local events, and building social connections.
Learning daily living, communication, and self-management skills through hands-on experiences.
Encouraging healthy habits through active community participation and recreation.
At Premier Health Services of Virginia, we believe that every person deserves meaningful opportunities to live, learn, and participate fully in their community. Our Non-Center-Based Day Support Program, also known as Community Engagement, is designed to help adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities build relationships, develop skills, and achieve personal goals — all within real-world community settings across Virginia.
Our day support program is covered under the FIS, CL and BI waivers.
Activities include:
Community Outings & Exploration
Volunteer & Service Opportunities
Recreational & Creative Activities
Educational & Skill-Building Activities
Health & Wellness Activities
Social & Group Activities
Community Engagement focuses on integrating individuals into their local communities rather than providing services in a traditional day center. Participants explore their interests, connect with local resources, and participate in activities that promote independence, inclusion, and self-advocacy. Our dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide individualized guidance and support, empowering participants to make choices, take on new experiences, and develop a sense of belonging.
